Responsibilities
The Comptroller is the City of Buffalo's top fiscal watchdog, responsible for ensuring that your tax dollars are spent wisely, efficiently, and in ways that make your neighborhood a better place to live. This Department is responsible for all accounting services for the City of Buffalo, in addition to conducting audits to eliminate waste, fraud, and mismanagement in city government. It also is responsible for managing the City of Buffalo's investments and selling its municipal bonds.
